The resource management process, supported by functional area management, ensures that Veeva staff members have the requisite combination of education, skills and experience to perform their documented job function. Qualifications are reviewed upon hire, when an employee changes position or when requirements for a position changes significantly. Formal job descriptions outline the required combination of education and experience required for the role. These documents are formally approved by the Functional Area Manager (FAM) and the quality unit (QAU), as well as acknowledged by the employee.

The resource management process is codified in policy and procedure (e.g., Training Procedure QV-00085), and records are maintained by the Training Manager. Employees are trained based on the relevance (role) and significance (risk) of the activities they perform and how they contribute to the achievement of quality objectives. Veeva maintains CVs, job descriptions, and training records for all employees globally.

The training curriculum is divided into three parts:

  1. mandatory corporate policies and procedures tailored by job role,
  2. regulatory training (includes life science overview to all employees globally, and ERES training to select product development and operations staff),and
  3. technical training, defined in a Job Specific Training Checklists for each function and by product team (Development, SQA, Operations, etc.).

Veeva employees globally receive security awareness training during onboarding and periodically during tenure.
